Christmas Celebration - Junior 2024

The Junior wing of St. Thomas School, Sahibabad celebrated Christmas through a Special Assembly and also hosted an Inter-House Carol Singing Competition for classes III-V.

The participants enchanted the audience with their Christmas skit, medley of Christmas carols, joyful dance and cake cutting ceremony.

Aravallis House emerged victorious, whereas Nilgiris House secured the second position epitomizing the spirit of Christmas.

Swaranjali 2024

Music that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of Rhythm melody harmony and colour.'

Thomassanians conducted 'SWARANJALI 2024' - an Inter- class Solo Singing Competition on December 16. It is a musical tribute in memory of Mrs Anamika Dey, their former Music teacher.

The competition provides the students a platform to explore their passion for music and showcase their talents on stage. It was graced by Rev. Fr. Cherian Joseph, the Manager of the school, Sir Principal Mr. Dious Mathai and Madam Headmistress, Ms. Shashi Kabdal.

Special Assembly on Children’s Day

Teachers of St. Thomas School took center stage during the assembly, showcasing heartfelt performances filled with joy and warmth. Their dedication and creativity turned Children’s Day into an unforgettable celebration, making each student feel cherished and valued.

Aspire-Sports Day 2024

 

St.Thomas School, Sahibabad  organised its Annual Sports Meet - ASPIRE on the theme: 'Sporting for Sustainability' on October 8, 2024.
The proceedings of this auspicious day commenced with the arrival of the esteemed Chief Guest Wing Commander Gajanand Yadav, Secretary of Air Force control Board, New Delhi and Mrs Mamta Yadav, who has served in IAF for 11 yrs as an Admistrative officer.
The event was also graced by the School's Chairman, Rev. Fr. Biju Daniel, the Manager Rev. Fr. Cherian Joseph, Rev. Fr. Binish Babu, the Manager of St. Thomas Indirapuram, the Principal Mr. Dious Mathai, and Principals and Vice- Principals of our sister schools.

The enthralling welcome dance by the talented Thomassanians marked the opening of the Sports Day extravaganza. Later, it was followed by a kaleidoscope of events like Walk of Honour, Felicitation Ceremony of meritorious students, Yoga, Flower Power Drill, Ribbon Drill, Taekwondo, Scouts and Guides.

The air was also charged with the spirit of competition as athletes showcased their prowess on the field in various athletic events. The day concluded with a harmonious rendition of the National Anthem.

Youth Parliament 2024

The Youth parliament session was organised for classes IX and X students in the school on October 10. It aimed to foster the spirit of democracy among the young minds.

The school is proud to offer this platform where students get the opportunity to understand how the parliamentary system works, develop leadership qualities and voice their opinions on national and global issues.

Students discussed the national issues at length and voiced their opinions in front of the student moderators. It helped the students to develop respect and tolerance for the views of others.

Special assembly on the occasion of Dussehra

“It is the fear of God which gives us the confidence to face men and their evil and to be confident of ultimate victory.”

A special assembly on the occasion of Dussehra was conducted by the students of class VII B. The celebration was graced by the school's Manager, Rev. Fr. Cherian Joseph, Sir Principal, Mr. Dious Mathai and Madam Headmistress, Ms Shashi Kabdal.

The program commenced with a prayer song and was followed by a speech and poem on the significance of the festival.
The children performed a musical drama depicting Lord Ram killing Ravana at the end. Everyone was dressed up in their best like Ram, Sita, Ravan, Surpnakha, Hanuman and other characters.

Rev. Fr. Cherian Joseph appreciated the efforts of the students and emphasized that this festival is celebrated not only to show the victory of Ram by defeating Ravan, but we all should be able to triumph over our evils like greed, anger, cruelty, hatred, lies etc to become victorious in our lives.

The whole school enjoyed the program with great enthusiasm and fervour.

Yash Chauhan of class IX-A, St. Thomas School Sahibabad, has won silver medal in CBSE Zonal Cluster Games (Boxing) 2024-25 under 60 to 62 kg weight category.
He has also qualified for CBSE National Games (BOXING) 2024-2025.

Tiny Hands Big Achievements

We are thrilled to share that our kindergarteners have made us incredibly proud by winning prizes at UTSAV 2024, an Interschool competition held at St. Thomas School,  Indirapuram.

Social Science Week

Social Science Department of St. Thomas School Sahibabad organised the Social Science week under the theme of ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat'.

There have been some interesting activities and competitions planned for the whole week:
Folk Art Painting Competition for classes VI to VIII, Best Out of Waste Exhibition for classes IV and V, Cultural Fusion Dance Competition for classes VII to X,
'A Tribute to our Real Heros' Competition for Class IV and V and The Rest is History!- a Podcast Competition for classes IX and X.

Every student participated and celebrated the rich cultural diversity of India with much enthusiasm.

78th Independence Day Celebration

As we celebrate our 78th Independence Day, we honour the sacrifices that brought us freedom. Students of class VII conducted a Special Assembly to mark this glorious occasion. A group Singing Patriotic song competition showcased our students' deep love for the nation, with their beautiful renditions echoing the spirit of unity and pride that defines us as a community that stands together.

Scouts and Guides Workshop

Students of classes VI-VIII attended a two day Scouts and Guides workshop. The students had experienced some thrilling activities during the workshop.

They learnt various things like how to tie different kinds of knots, making a make-shift tent, giving CPR to an unconscious man, and many more.

The workshop ended on a positive note, where students not only learned new things but also enjoyed them to their fullest.

St. Thomas Day 2024

St. Thomas School joyfully celebrated the patron saint's feast, where Class X students shared the life history of Saint Thomas, one of Jesus' twelve disciples. The event culminated in a heartfelt floral tribute from all staff members, honoring the legacy and faith of St. Thomas.

Happy first day back to school!

The school reverberated with new vigour and joy yesterday as it was the first day after summer break. Everyone seized the moment and celebrated the diversity of talents, experiences and expertise that each Thomassanian brings to the school.

The day was also marked as special as everyone in the St. Thomas family welcomed the new Chairman of the school, Rev. Fr. Biju Daniel. He brings with him a wealth of experience and vision for excellence.

English Literary Week

English Literary Week was celebrated from May 10 to May 17 with a view to introduce the Thomassanians with various Indian authors and different aspects of the English language.

The first day marked the beginning of the week in which the father of Indian Renaissance - Raja Ram Mohan Roy was celebrated. Senior students presented a skit on 'Sati Pratha', recited poems and conducted a quiz about his life and works.

Junior wing - Classes I and II participated in the Book Parade of Fairytale characters with zeal and were equally enthusiastic in presenting themselves on stage.

Investiture Ceremony 2024

On May 15, 2024, the school celebrated its Investiture Ceremony and saw the newly elected council members marching in unison, led by the school band.

The event was graced by Rev. Fr. Saji Abraham, the Chairman of the school, Rev. Fr. Cherian Joseph, the Manager, Ms Vineeta Varghese, the Headmistress of St. Thomas School Indirapuram, Sir Principal, Mr. Dious Mathai and Madam Headmistress, Ms Shashi Kabdal.

The ceremony featured the release of the school magazine, Cedar 2024. The ceremony concluded with the council members taking their oaths and being adorned with badges, marking the beginning of their leadership journey.

Special Assembly on Earth Day

Earth is our home and it is our responsibility to take care of it.'

Students of class IV C presented a wonderful assembly on Earth  Day. They spread their word of saving the environment through beautiful poems, graceful dances and skit on mother nature.

On this day, we shall all pledge to conserve our mother nature for our future generations.

Prerna Utsav

School level PRERNA Utsav was conducted on April 15. Students of classes IX and X participated eagerly in multi- modal activities on the topic 'Viksit Bharat' and 'My contributions towards society and nation.'

PRERNA is an initiative of the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India to be implemented by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. It is a transformative one week experiential learning program designed to empower the youth of the country.

Special Assembly on Eid-Ul-Fitr

Students of class V conducted a Special Assembly on Eid-Ul-Fitr. They danced, recited poems and sang songs to mark the occasion.

New Session Begins 2024-25

St Thomas School, Sahibabad commenced its new academic session 2024-25 with a special assembly. A sense of new hope and positivity filled the air as the school gathered together to embark on a new journey of learning and growth.
The school's Principal, Mr. Dious Mathai encouraged the students to embrace new challenges, set ambitious goals and be kind and welcoming to new classmates.

The Kindergarten students were also welcomed with much love and warmth by the mother teachers. Smiles and giggles filled the surroundings as they enjoyed the colorful decoration at the entrance.
The day sparked joy and excitement for the tiny tots as they engaged themselves with different games and activities.

Anugoonj 2024 - The KG Annual Day

The kindergarten's Annual Day Celebration, with the theme 'Vividh', was a rainbow of hues, inventiveness, and happy moments. The event, which took place on 17th February, featured our young stars' wide range of talents. The show opened with a colorful parade in which small children dressed in a variety of colors marched with excitement, signifying the range of abilities.

A variety of performances were made to bring the theme 'Vividh' to life, with each child portraying a distinct aspect of creativity. It was more than just a celebration—rather, it was evidence of the kind, accepting atmosphere that promotes holistic growth in our kindergarten.

The event left everyone with cherished memories and a renewed appreciation for the boundless creativity that resides within every child.

Blessing Ceremony 2024

The Thomassanians bid adieu to our beloved Class X students. The Blessing Ceremony started with special prayers offered for our departing seniors, invoking blessings for their future endeavors and thanking them for their invaluable contributions to the school.
Class X teachers took the stage, sharing heartfelt messages filled with reminiscences of cherished moments, words of wisdom, and instilling confidence and reassurance in the students as they prepare to step into the wider world.
The stage became alive with mesmerizing dance performances by both Class IX and X students, showcasing their talent and camaraderie.
The curtains drew to a close, amidst a backdrop of teary eyes and heavy hearts, as they bid good bye to the school.
As they embark on their next
chapter, may they carry with them the lessons learned, the friendships forged, and the memories cherished, guiding them towards a future filled with success, happiness, and fulfilment.

A workshop on 'Sapno ki udaan'

A workshop 'Sapno ki udaan' was conducted by Amar Ujala and Whisper Choice in the school premises for the girls of classes V to VII.

The speakers spread awareness on menstrual hygiene and also advised the girls to take menstrual days as any other normal days. The workshop ended with a question-answer session in which all the doubts related to periods were addressed.

Republic Day- Special Assembly

The Republic Day special assembly was organised by students of class VIII with much vigour. The students expressed their powerful message of unity and patriotism through their informative speech, soulful dance and musical rendition.

The National flag was hoisted by our Manager Rev. Fr. Cherian Joseph on 26th January and reminded us of our duties as the citizens of India. Later, everyone sang the National Anthem while keeping in mind the laws and constitution of India in high regard.

Christmas Celebration 2023

St. Thomas School students spread festive joy during their Christmas celebration with high spirited assemblies for both junior and senior wings, lively carol singing competitions, delightful cake cutting ceremonies and joyful moments of singing and dancing. All these were accompanied by the cheerful presence of Santa Claus.

Class VI C and VI A presented a wonderful Special Assembly on National Energy Conservation Day. They gave a message to each Thomassanian that if energy is saved, then our planet, Earth too will be saved.

The Annual Day 2023 - Metamorphosis

 

St. Thomas School Sahibabad celebrated its much anticipated event of the year, the Annual Day on November 8, 2023. The event was graced by Rev. Fr. Dr. Jossy P George, the Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Saji Abraham, the Chairman of the school, Rev Fr. Cherian Joseph, the Manager, Mr. Dious Mathai, the Principal and Ms. Shashi Kabdal, the Headmistress.

This year the theme was METAMORPHOSIS - An Odyssey of the heart. It depicts that a child's life is like a stage wherein she goes through a maelstrom of emotions throughout her life. It gave a message that understanding these moods or 'rasas' of a child can help both the parents and teachers alike in strengthening the bond with her.

The event commenced with a welcome song, lighting of the auspicious lamp, welcome dance and an elaborate welcome address by the Head Girl of the school. It was also marked by the presentation of the Annual Report 2022-2023 by the Principal of the school along with an insightful speech by the Chief Guest of the evening.

The joyous occasion also rewarded the efforts of the teachers on completion of their 25 years of service in the school and felicitated the students who excelled in CBSE board 2023.The students of class X of the current year were also awarded with Dr. Paulos Mar Gregorious Award for their academic excellence and achievements in various areas like arts, sports, inter-school competitions etc.
Then, the major attraction of the day, the cultural event was set rolling by the crew members (students) of the flight STS Metamorphosis. The extravaganza progressed by witnessing the mesmerizing dance drama of the students of classes I to X. They came one by one in groups showing each developmental stage along with the dominant mood.

Tarang 2023

St. Thomas School, Sahibabad, celebrated the fourth season of its cultural fest, Tarang, in a grand and vibrant manner. The event held on October 21, 2023, brought together participants from various schools, showcasing their talents in the inter-school semi-classical solo dance and inter-school painting competitions.
Nrityanjali, the inter-school semi-classical solo dance competition, witnessed breathtaking performances by students who displayed their prowess in the dance form.
Chitranjali, the inter-school painting competition, was another croed-puller at Tarang 2023. Young artists from different schools let their imaginations run wild as they dipped their brushes into a palette of emotions.
Tarang 2023 was a magnificent celebration of culture, talent, and creativity. It provided a platform for students to showcase their skills, learn from each other, and foster a spirit of unity. The event’s success was a testament to the dedication and hard work put in by the teachers, students, and supportive audience.
